He has been paddling for over 31 years, coaching for over 20 years, and has managed a large variety of centres. On top of the outdoor coaching work, he has also been a manager for Bass Pubs, an IT engineer and a Systems builder in the computer trade. So when it comes to corporate team building he can relate to those enviroments too.
Running more UKCC BCU coach education courses a year than many other providers in the UK, he is the go to provider for cutting edge instructor training.
Also working a technical advisor for a variety of centres around the UK and a centre approvals inspector for Canoe Wales

After studying for a degree in outdoor education and management, he has been teaching outdoor adventures for over 15 years. He has run courses all over the world: The UK, Scandinavia, France, South East Africa, and more recently safety & tec advising across Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore! Tom instructs all our course here at TNR, he enjoys running family holidays and open canoe expeditions.

Direct access to the Water
We are very proud of the centre and what we can offer here on site.
Starting off with hassle free on site parking, which just makes your arrival so much nicer. Then once you have got changed in our heated changing rooms we have Direct access onto the water or easy travelling distance to the rest of our activities.
With archery/axe throwing and air rifles here on site too.
Then when you have finished, have a shower and pop up stairs to our fantastic restaurant to finish the day off full and rested.
The conference facililites, known as the Marina Suite are fantastic. They can sit 40 people in comfort with access to a private outside terrace, overlooking our fish pool. The suite also has access to a second public terrace. So whether you want a full insde experience or need break out space we can organise that for you. along with AV set ups and white boards, pin board and Flip charts.

Adam has a wide range of interests when it comes the outdoors, he paddles, he climbs, and will do anything to avoid being stuck inside. He has worked and played both in the UK and abroad introducing all sorts of people, young and old to the things he loves.
His main passion is for canoeing & coaching and has completed several solo expeditions over the past few years. In February 2017 his guidebook 'Welsh Canoe Classics' was published.
Adam will be pushing forward our Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme from 2018

From rock climbing & abseiling high above the Dee valley, gorge scrambling in the beautiful hidden gullies of North Wales, to canoeing over the towering and world-famous UNESCO aqueduct, we have the adventure to suit any group or individual.

We run most of our activities from our centre in Chirk, where we can offer you: on site activities, within our grounds; full changing facilities, including hot showers; as well as a bar and restaurant for full refreshment at the end of a day’s adventure.
